Back from Hiatus in California

December saw us head down to Portland one weekend for the USGP's, Bend the next weekend for U.S. Nationals, and then down to California for me to see my family for Christmas. Drew joined me after Christmas and we got a chance to spend time with friends in San Francisco where we made sure to see all the main tourist sights - windiest street in the world, Ghiradelli Square, Crissy Field, Union Square, Fisherman's wharf, and a ride across the Golden Gate Bridge into the Marin Headlands. Not a bad way to spend a weekend...
I wrote a post before Christmas with a full race report of Cross Nationals. I then proceeded to ditch my computer and hang out with my family for 2 weeks -- long walks on the beach, our weekend in San Francisco, college women's basket ball game, and lots of food!
Now I am faced with boring everyone with details of a race that happened over a month ago, or just saying--I finished 44th, had an ok race, learned more than I have in any other race, and can't wait to go back next year with (hopefully!) more UCI points and with (guaranteed!) more experience.

As for the new year, the old year, and everything in between, I would like express my gratitude to the Island Racing Club and it's sponsors for all of the support I received this year! This was my most successful race year to date and I hope to continue that trend in the 2010 season. For my other supporters, thanks to Gary Fisher for their help with my speedy mountain bike, Shimano for their help with components and awesome weekends away, and finally, to Gerry at work for all of the last-minute tune-ups, time off, and moral support throughout the year.
